develop is seeking an Engineering Manager to support the Head of Engineering in growth, ownership, and leadership. The role involves building and guiding a development team and shaping scalable engineering practices in a hybrid setup near Hamburg.

You will lead product-aligned teams, foster relationships with Product and other leaders, and help scale the organisation to 14 by 2027, with English required and German a bonus.

Qualifikationen

• 2-3 years in leadership roles, with hands-on team management.
• Led teams of 4-7+ people and scaled teams.
• Strong ability to build relationships with Product and other leaders.
• Proven portfolio/project management ensuring alignment of teams.
• Excellent communication and change-management skills.
• Solid technical background (Java/Go/JS/Python etc).
• Experience with distributed systems; consumer-facing product experience preferred.

Engineering Manager | 2 stage process | C1+ English | Scale up | €90,000-€108,000 + bonus

I am working with a Digital start up/scale up company who are in growth mode and need an Engineering Manager to support the Head of Engineering with their growth, ownership and leadership.

They are going through an exciting period of growth, and want you to support that, whether its through leadership and hiring talent yourself.

I need an Engineering Manager who can support the existing development team but help build it to a team of 14 by 2027!

Information:

• 2 stage interview process
• Ideally commutable distance to Hamburg
• Hybrid working
• English speaking - German a bonus
• Package - €90,000-€115,000 (including fixed + variable bonus)

Skills:

• At least 2-3 years in pure leadership roles
• Led teams of 4-7+ people (more of course is fine)
• Great at building relationships with both Product & other leaders within the business
• Good portfolio/project management. Making sure teams & individuals are aligned
• Communication & awareness around process & change management
• Strong technical background (Java or Go or JavaScript or Python etc)
• Experience working on distributed systems - nice to have
• Worked on a consumer facing product in the past (ideally millions of users)
