Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council seeks a qualified Civil Engineer to lead the Engineering Team across a portfolio of projects in the borough. You will manage the team and budgets, and drive high-quality, safe, and sustainable infrastructure for residents.
The role offers a permanent, full-time contract with hybrid working options from Kings Hill offices and onsite work across the borough. Leadership development is supported with CPD opportunities.
Overview Lead the Engineering Team shaping the future of Tonbridge & Malling. This is a role for a qualified Civil Engineer who can apply technical knowledge to vital local projects while maintaining a healthy work-life balance and a supportive team environment.
Location: Kings Hill, West Malling (with flexible/hybrid working options)
Contract: Permanent | Full Time (37 hours per week)

You’ll work from our Kings Hill offices, with flexibility to work remotely and regular opportunities to be out on-site across the borough.
You’ll hold a degree or HND in Civil Engineering and have a full UK driving licence. While previous managerial experience is an advantage, we’re open to applications from technically strong candidates who are ready to develop their leadership skills with our support. Your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and collaborative approach will be key to delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality infrastructure for our residents.
