Job summary

Sedgman is expanding its European head office in Frankfurt, Germany, and seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and manage engineering design activities for major projects. You will contribute to estimating and tender development, align designs with client requirements, and ensure safety and quality standards while coordinating with global teams.

The role requires 20+ years in engineering design, with 10+ years in leadership, EPC/EPCM experience, and strong German and English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related).
• Minimum 20 years' experience in engineering design, including 10+ years leading multi-discipline teams.
• Proven EPC/EPCM project delivery experience.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management.
• Excellent German and English communication.

As part of our global strategic expansion, Sedgman is expanding its European head office in Frankfurt, Germany.

This marks an exciting chapter in our growth as we support major critical raw materials projects. Our team is at the forefront of delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions that drive the energy transition across Europe.

To support this growth, we’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Frankfurt team.

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage engineering design activities, ensuring alignment with client requirements, project objectives, and Sedgman’s standards. You will also contribute to engineering estimating and support tender development, playing a key role in project planning and execution.

In this newly created role, your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Support engineering estimating and tender preparation activities.
• Ensure design outputs meet client expectations, safety standards, and commercial objectives.
• Coordinate design reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global teams to optimise design resources and capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and Safety in Design principles.
• Champion quality management and innovation in engineering design processes.

You are a seasoned Engineering Manager with strong engineering estimating capabilities and a passion for delivering innovative solutions, with the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
• Minimum 20 years' experience in engineering design, including 10+ years leading multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering projects within an EPC / EPCM environment.
• Strong leadership, client engagement and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and global project environments.
• Commercially astute, decisive and results-driven, with a focus on delivering successful project outcomes.
• A collaborative and influential leadership style, with a track record of building, developing and growing high-performing technical teams.
• Innovative, adaptable and solutions-focused, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, enabling you to build trusted relationships and achieve results.
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English (professional proficiency).
