Your Impact

Handshake is hiring an experienced Engineering Manager for our Analytics & Integrations team to shape the future of career discovery for Generation Z. You’ll lead a team building powerful embedded analytics, data-rich APIs, and seamless integrations connecting universities, students and employers across our emerging career social network. Combining your technical depth with inspiring leadership, you’ll ensure millions of students across the globe find meaningful jobs and launch careers with confidence.

Your Role
  • Build, lead, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers, developing their technical and leadership skills; clearly define growth paths and motivate towards impactful outcomes
  • Champion a data-driven product culture, expanding the capabilities of our embedded analytics and employer integrations products—critical data sources fueling our applied AI and ML initiatives that shape student experiences
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders across Handshake including Product Management, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and go-to-market teams, defining clear, ambitious, and measurable goals to enhance data accessibility, quality, and integration reliability at scale
  • Guide technical decisions and provide technical coaching, helping tech leads to define and prioritize our product and engineering roadmap
  • Lead with empathy as you help us nurture a culture of growth, inclusion, and belonging
Your Experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing a technical team in a people leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience in Backend Engineering with one or more programming languages (Ruby, Java, Go, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience operating distributed services in production environments
  • Know-how and success working cross-functionally to drive impactful, product-level outcomes
