Overview

I am responsible for the overall security of IP communications at 50Hertz, shaping its operation and development.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic and operational responsibility for firewalls and load balancers
• Needs assessment, planning, operation, maintenance, and end-of-life replacement
• Requirement gathering, service definition, specification, procurement, installation, configuration, network integration, commissioning, and documentation
• Operational responsibility for highly available systems and services
• Monitoring, support, incident, patch, release, change, and problem management guidelines
• Participation in development and implementation projects
• Technical consulting including feasibility assessments
• Participation in the second-level on-call system

Qualifications:

• Degree or vocational training in IT or communications technology or equivalent qualification
• Several years of experience in similar roles (e.g., Network Engineer, System Engineer, System Administrator)
• Deep knowledge of firewall, load balancer systems, proxy, IDS/IPS, PKI (e.g., CCSE, FCSS, CCNP Security, PCNSA, GIAC certifications)
• Understanding of complex IP network components
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Languages: German (C1), English (B2)

Preferred but not required:

• Understanding of critical infrastructure operations
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks (IT-SiG, NIS2, BSI IT-Grundschutz)
• Experience with DevNet Operations (Netmiko, Python, GitLab, CI/CD)
