Responsibilities:
- Improve the automation of trading activities in the short-term markets
- Support the business development and integration of retail and large-scale flexibility into the short-term markets
- Identify and highlight trends and market developments to support commercial decision-making on portfolio flex
- Analyze market data to identify opportunities in the markets
- Analyze processes and tools, design and implement process automation with traders and IT teams
- Develop and implement automated trading strategies contributing to Desk PNL
- Build analytics and reports to monitor trading strategies' performance
- Support the development of models and algorithms for market data and price forecasting
- Develop relationships with peer analysts and traders across teams and locations
- Manage internal and external stakeholders regarding flexibility projects
- Act as an interface between Trading, Asset Management, and IT Experts
Your profile:
- University degree in economics, finance, physics, engineering, or a comparable field
- Excellent understanding of German Day Ahead, Intraday, and ancillary service markets
- Experience in asset optimization, renewables trading, and physical spot markets
- Proven track record in P&L contribution
- Self-motivated, hands-on, with strong technical and quantitative skills
- Experience in developing reports and algorithms; skilled in coding (e.g., Python, SQL)
- Experience with data engineering and Microsoft Azure is advantageous
- Experience with short-term IT systems like DeltaXE, Volue Algo Traders, Power Bot is advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
