You will be instrumental in establishing and scaling our presence, drawing on Arup's global expertise to deliver transformative low-carbon solutions. Responsibilities

• Strategically develop & execute: Define and implement the market entry and growth strategy for Arup's energy business in Germany, identifying and prioritising key opportunities.
• Drive market penetration & client engagement: Cultivate and expand senior-level client relationships across utilities, developers, investors, and government bodies, positioning Arup as a trusted advisor and partner.
• Lead & inspire: Build, mentor, and lead a motivated, high-performing energy team in Germany, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
• Champion technical excellence & growth in key segments: Drive business development and project acquisition with a focus on High Voltage Networks, Energy Storage, and Renewable Energy, ensuring solutions meet client needs and Arup's quality standards.
• Collaborate & leverage: Work closely with European and global colleagues to bring the best of Arup's international expertise to the German market, ensuring brand coherence and maximising our collective impact.

Qualifications & Profile

• 20+ years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong focus on high-voltage systems, network infrastructure, and energy storage solutions.
• Demonstrated ambition to drive growth with a start-up mindset, particularly over the past decade, taking ownership and initiative in shaping strategy and delivery.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills — fluent in both German and English — with a proven ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with a client-focused approach, capable of identifying opportunities, developing long-term partnerships, and contributing to business growth.
