ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH is seeking a highly skilled embedded software engineer to join their team in Germany. The role focuses on safety-critical embedded software in C for next‑generation UAV platforms, with responsibilities spanning bring‑up, RTOS optimization and cross‑domain certification.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in CS or Aerospace, have DO-178C/ARINC 653 exp., and be fluent in English, with German knowledge preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a comparable field.
• Hands-on experience in embedded software development, ideally within safety-critical environments.
• Experience with safety-critical standards such as DO-178C, ARINC 653 and DO-297.
• Strong knowledge of low-level software development, certification processes and tools such as DOORS and Python.
• Fluent in English and ideally knowledge of German.

Aufgaben

• Architect, implement, integrate and test safety-critical embedded software in C for next-generation UAV platforms.
• Develop low-level software including microprocessor bring-up, BSP adaptation and hardware-software integration.
• Configure, develop and optimize Real-Time Operating Systems in multi-core environments.
• Create and maintain certification and development artifacts with full traceability.
• Define and execute end-to-end operational test scenarios using Multisystem Integration Test RIGs.
• Support software architectures, real-time computing platforms and digitalized infrastructures from concept through certification.
