agap2 Germany is seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d) – Aerospace Systems to contribute to the development of embedded software for aerospace electronic control units. You will focus on hardware-related software, multicore MCU architectures, BSPs and full software lifecycle activities.

The role requires translating requirements into robust software, architectural design, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive experience in embedded software development.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d) – Aerospace Systems

You will contribute to the development of embedded software for complex electronic control units used in aerospace applications. The position focuses on hardware-related software development, multicore microcontroller architectures, Board Support Packages and the implementation of technical requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

Depending on your project assignment, your responsibilities may include:

• Translate technical requirements and detailed specifications into embedded software solutions optimized for the underlying hardware, electronic assemblies and microcontroller systems
• Develop, program, commission and test Board Support Packages for electronic control units
• Support and coordinate embedded controller software activities for complex subsystems within defined development concepts and processes
• Define and implement software architectures for hardware-related embedded systems
• Create technical specifications, software architecture descriptions and development documentation
• Evaluate, document and communicate verification and compliance evidence
• Coordinate the technical content, interfaces and timelines of software tasks and work packages
• Conduct software reviews covering requirements analyses, software architectures and software designs
• Analyse complex technical problems, assess their impact and develop effective solutions
• Develop technical strategies and support decisions that ensure compliance with product-development requirements

What You Bring

• Extensive professional experience in embedded software development
• Proven ability to independently translate technical requirements into robust software solutions
• Very strong knowledge of hardware-related C programming and microcontroller programming
• Solid experience with multicore architectures and multicore embedded systems
• Knowledge of model-based software engineering methods and tools
• Good understanding of software architecture patterns and experience defining and designing embedded software architectures
• Experience developing and testing Board Support Packages is highly desirable
• Experience in aerospace software development according to DO-178 is considered a strong advantage
• Ability to create and review technical specifications, requirements analyses and software designs
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities
• Strategic mindset and sound technical decision-making skills
• Ability to plan and coordinate complex technical tasks and work packages
• Independent, proactive and solution-oriented working style
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical results clearly
