Overview
Elektroingenieur/in – Grafenwoehr, Germany. Ausschreibungsbereich: WHO MAY APPLY – Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany, and EXTERNAL Local National Applicants who reside in Germany.
Responsibilities
As a professional engineer the incumbent is responsible for the preparation, planning, and review of projects and studies prepared by in-house personnel, Engineer (AE) firms, Corps of Engineers, and/or Bauamt in the field of electrical engineering. Incumbent is responsible for the application of a broad knowledge of diverse engineering concepts and procedures sufficient to review or carry out a wide range of studies and assignments.
Qualifications
- E&T Levels I through IV are not creditable for positions in this occupational series.
- E&T Level V: Graduates must be from a Fachhochschule, Berufsakademie, or Technische Hochschule as an Engineer in the discipline specifically required for the position, and must be recognized by German authorities to practice engineering in Germany. Applicants from foreign countries must obtain an equivalent certification from pertinent German authorities.
- Office automation skills required.
- Valid driver2 license (Class B).
- Language proficiency: English and German Language Proficiency Level B2 required.
Employment Conditions
- This is a permanent full-time position (38.5 hrs/week). Designated duty station is Grafenwöhr; the incumbent may be reassigned to another duty station within the same works council agency and commuting area.
- Occasional TDY (Temporary Duty Travel) within Germany may be required.
- Telework: Non-routine, ad-hoc work away from the regular site may be performed.
- External Applicants: Police good conduct certificate required prior to appointment. The applicant must obtain it from the local resident registration office; cost is not reimbursable. Non-US citizen family members, except German citizens, are exempt from this requirement.
- Upon appointment, two valid picture IDs are required to access computer systems. Acceptable documents: Personalausweis, Reisepass, and EU Driver's License (two of these recommended).
- Background check will be initiated within 3 days after appointment per USAREUR Regulation 604-1; unacceptable results may result in termination during probation or thereafter.
