The Role:

In the instrument development division of Roche Diagnostics' Near Patient Care business, we develop customer-oriented diagnostic devices and systems from initial idea to mass production, adhering to all relevant regulatory standards. As part of the global "Body / Wearables and Handheld Devices" electronics development team, you will participate actively in agile projects as an Electronics Technician / Junior Electronics Engineer, with responsibilities including:

  • Building and providing electronic prototypes and samples for development tests and studies
  • Planning, executing, and documenting development tests
  • General development tasks: circuit diagram, layout tasks, prototyping, and simple programming for test setups
  • Setting up, commissioning, and maintaining development test stations and equipment
  • Data analysis and evaluation
  • Documentation tasks
  • Equipment management: primary contact for procurement, coordination of annual calibration of electronic equipment
  • Active participation as a team member in agile project teams
Who you are:

We are looking for experts who:

  • Have successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, medical technology, or similar, or are technicians with at least 5 years of experience in development-related environments
  • Have practical experience from internships or technical training
  • Possess hands-on experience in electronics and related fields such as mechanics (e.g., ME-CAD, 3D printing) or basic software (e.g., Arduino, C/C++, Python, MATLAB)
  • Are familiar with equipment management in a GxP-compliant medical environment
  • Have experience in data extraction and analysis using tools like Excel, Python, LabVIEW, Minitab, MATLAB
  • Enjoy practical work and systematically understand technical issues
  • Have knowledge in circuit diagram and layout development (Altium Designer)
  • Are curious about agile development methods or have some experience with them
  • Possess strong teamwork, independence, communication skills, and initiative
  • Have excellent written and spoken English skills
