Zusammenfassung

European XFEL in the Hamburg area invites applications for a position in the Vacuum Group. You will integrate electronic components into vacuum control systems, define specifications, and support commissioning.

Responsibilities include documenting work, troubleshooting electronic installations, coordinating installation activities, and providing electrical support to the Instrumentation Department. English required; German knowledge advantageous.

Qualifikationen

European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The Position

• Integrate electronic components into the vacuum control systems
• Define specifications and design components; initiate procurement of necessary hardware
• Coordinate installation activities and manage commissioning processes
• Provide electrical support to the Instrumentation Department
• Conduct troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of electronic installations
• Document completed work and maintain project-related documentation
• Participate in the on-call service of the Vacuum Group

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering, or state certified technician with relevant professional experience or equivalent
• Proficient in designing electrical/electronics schematics
• Experience with CAD tools, preferably EPLAN P8
• Familiarity with PLC control systems
• Experience with motion and feedback systems is a plus
• Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines
• Basic knowledge of vacuum technology is an asset
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English
• Knowledge of German is advantageous

• Depending on the pay group, we offer an annual special payment of 75-95% of one month’s salary.
