European XFEL in Schenefeld near Hamburg is seeking a student assistant to support the Vacuum group. You will clean and assemble vacuum components in a cleanroom, help maintain the inventory system, and assist during mechanical installation of beam transport systems.

The role offers a part-time schedule (20h/week, up to 39h during semester breaks) with an international research environment, English as the company language and opportunities for training and professional development.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Degree program in physics, engineering or similar discipline.
• Interest in mechanics and vacuum technology.
• Knowledge in use of MS-Office.
• Independent way of working.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines.
