Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is hiring an Electronic Warfare Developer to join the Combat Algorithm Development team near Munich/Manching. You will contribute to EMO management software for spectrum management and the EMO Decision Advisor, focusing on non-AI components and integration up to TRL5 with JADES.

The role requires a Master’s in a technical field, strong C, Linux, and Eclipse skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master´s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Analytical Thinking: ability to simplify complex concepts into practical software solutions.
• Collaboration & Communication: effective team player in cross‑functional engineering environments.
• Precision & Quality: strong attention to code robustness and documentation standards.
• English: business fluent (written and spoken).
• Working with VS‑NfD data required.
• Ability to translate abstract concepts into executable source code.
• Programming skills in C.
• Software development experience using an IDE (Eclipse preferred).
• Knowledge of Doxygen, Git, Wireshark and Matlab.
• Knowledge of Linux on command line level.
• Software documentation.
• Desired: Python and JADES knowledge.
• Knowledge about NDAS, CESMO, Link 16 protocols.
• Knowledge about avionics software development.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of EMO Management software components for Spectrum Management and the EMO Decision Advisor.
• Work on the classical (non-AI) part of the EMO Decision Advisor.
• Integrate software components up to TRL5 and assist handover to product development.
• Perform integration and testing of software components with the simulation tool JADES.

Job Description: In order to support Air Power Engineering - Mission Systems , Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Electronic Warfare Developer (d/m/f) The successful applicant will join the Combat Algorithm Development and Prototyping team within the Mission System Center of Competence, dedicated for bridging the gap between theoretical mathematical models and deployable, real-world combat systems. The team designs, codes, and validates high-performance algorithms that drive autonomous decision-making, target acquisition, and mission optimization. By rapidly prototyping these solutions, it is ensured that the relevant technologies are robust, scalable, and ready for integration into next-generation defence platforms.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Support the development of EMO Management software components for Spectrum Management and the EMO Decision Advisor
• Work on the "classical (non-AI)" part of the EMO (Electro‑Magnetic Operations) Decision Advisor
• Integrate software components up to TRL5 and (possibly) support the handover to the product development team
• Perform integration and testing of software components in combination with the simulation tool JADES
