Electronic Engineer (m/f/d)

As part of the Electronic Systems department at OHB, you will play a key role in designing state-of-the-art electronic test systems for satellite electronic units. These units perform complex functions such as high-precision motor control, vibration suppression, and the processing of high-resolution image and sensor data. Our test systems range from standard setups for command, control, and signal acquisition to highly specialized configurations used for groundbreaking missions, from detecting gravitational waves to exploring exoplanets and measuring atmospheric wind speeds from space.If you're eager to tackle new and unconventional challenges, we invite you to join our dedicated and multidisciplinary team of experts.

Your Tasks

  • Design automated electronic ground support equipment (EGSE) for testing satellite electronics
  • Develop custom electronics test systems for performance verification of specific functions
  • Design test fixtures for component life testing and radiation exposure evaluations
  • Program test software in Python or C/C++ to control and automate test equipment
  • Create comprehensive documentation including design descriptions, user manuals, and FMECA analysis reports
  • Prepare documentation required for CE certification of test systems
  • Specify and oversee the layout of multi-layer PCBs used within test setups
  • Perform system-level verification and validation of test systems before deployment
  • Collaborate closely with flight electronics design engineers to ensure system compatibility and functionality

Your Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in electronic design for RF, precision analog, or power electronics applications
  • Familiarity with ECSS standards for space-qualified electronics
  • Understanding of spacecraft communication protocols (, SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceFibre)
  • Proficiency in a programming language for automated testing (, Python or C/C++)
  • Skilled in the use of ECAD and simulation tools such as Mentor PADS Professional, SPICE, and HyperLynx
