Jobbeschreibung
Overview

VÆRIDION is a pioneering electric aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) dedicated to revolutionizing regional air mobility and sustainable aviation. We are committed to designing and producing cutting-edge electric conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) aircraft that provide safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.

As an Electrical Systems Engineer - High Voltage (all genders), you will significantly contribute to the design, development, and certification of the aircraft's high voltage systems. You will work as part of a multi-functional team, reporting to the Senior Electrical Systems Engineer, and covering HV system integration, including battery systems, power electronics, HV EWIS, and associated sub-systems. Your daily tasks will include a variety of technical activities for the propulsion team.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Proactively lead and execute technical tasks within the R&D department for the Microliner development and certification, from capturing technical requirements to demonstrating compliance.
  • Contribute significantly to the definition, architecture, sizing, specification, development, and integration of the high voltage (HV) distribution system in the aircraft, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Develop physical and functional interfaces (ICDs) between the high voltage system and the aircraft structure and related systems and disciplines.
  • Coordinate HV system safety analysis and conduct system engineering tasks.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform HV system validation and verification activities as per aerospace standards such as ARP4754.
  • Support the integration of the high voltage system digital mock-up (DMU) with the aircraft 3D model.
  • Create a MATLAB simulation of the high voltage systems, identify failure scenarios and optimize the design according to the aircraft design requirements.
  • Select, interact with, and manage suppliers, taking responsibility for work packages related to the development, installation and integration of HV components such as fuses, switches, harnesses, and grounding systems.
  • Coordinate and implement HV components, as per applicable safety, installation and certification requirements.
  • Define and plan HV equipment qualification campaigns together with the R&D team, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Support HV system hardware and software testing campaigns, from component test benches to full-scale prototypes, and aircraft ground and flight test campaigns.
  • Ensure adherence to all engineering processes and standards and participate in design reviews to meet development and certification goals.
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in electrical systems design and integration within an aerospace OEM or similar industry (preferably automotive).
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering and safety analyses per aerospace standards such as ARP4754 and ARP4761 or automotive standard such as ISO26262. Proficiency on airborne hardware and software qualification per ED-12/ED-80 (DO-178/DO-254), and practical experience with aircraft certification is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical load analysis (ELA), and electrical system simulation.
  • Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent is preferred.
  • Assertive and clear communication skills, results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to interact efficiently with customers, authorities, suppliers, and internal organizational units.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Skilled in navigating early design uncertainties and driving progress through proactive proposals and collaborative idea sharing.
  • Positive and optimistic attitude, with a collaborative approach in a multicultural team, adhering to company rules and values.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in another European language is a plus.
  • Passionate about aviation and the electrification of the aviation industry.
Why us?
  • Be part of an ambitious team determined to shape the future of aviation.
  • Enjoy flexible working hours: we believe in ownership and trust.
  • Subsidized EGYM Wellpass membership: your (mental) health is important for us.
  • Become a part of our success with virtual stock options.
  • Choose the option that suits your needs: either a free charging station for your electric car or a public transport job ticket as part of the Deutschlandticket.
  • Lease a high-quality bicycle or e-bike through our JobRad program and benefit from tax advantages. Whether for your daily commute or personal use, enjoy more mobility and sustainability.
  • Pension scheme to support your long-term financial security.
  • Work in one of our offices in Munich or Delft. Enjoy the modern Balan Campus in Munich or work close to the innovative Aerospace TU Delft.

About Us

VÆRIDION is a fast-growing deep tech start-up based in Munich, Germany. Since the restrictions by law on CO2 emissions for domestic and short-haul air travel will stimulate Green Regional Air Mobility, we believe it\'s our mission to provide an aircraft for Zero emission regional flights.

At VÆRIDION our goal is to develop, build and certify a full electric microliner carrying up to 9 passengers for Short-Haul and Regional Air Mobility by 2030. A full electric microliner is cleaner and cheaper to operate than other aeroplanes in its class, it provides a better travel experience door to door up to 500 km. We offer new optimized design based on proven principles, around proven and available technology in electric motors and batteries, that brings lowest risk and shortest route to certification.
