USG International, based in Aachen, is seeking a skilled technician to commission, maintain, and support advanced electrical test equipment for energy-storage and e-mobility applications.

The role is full-time and on-site in Aachen, with travel to customer sites during the week. You will work with hardware and software teams to resolve faults and improve products while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifikationen

• Completed vocational training, technician qualification, or degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, automation.
• Experience in commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting of complex electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of measurement and power-converter technology.

Aufgaben

• Commission battery test, formation, and power-electronics systems at customer sites.
• Perform installation support, functional testing, calibration, acceptance activities, and system handover.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, measurement, control, software-interface, and communication faults.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upgrades on systems and equipment.
• Train customer personnel on safe operation, basic maintenance, and correct use of equipment.
• Document service activities, test results, faults, corrective actions, spare-parts requirements, and communications.
• Act as a professional technical contact for customers, ensuring high responsiveness and service quality.
• Collaborate with Aachen-based hardware and software teams to investigate issues and feed field experience into product improvements.
• Follow electrical safety, site-safety, quality, and customer requirements at all times.

Our client develops and manufactures battery test, formation, and charging systems used by battery manufacturers, automotive companies, research laboratories, and universities worldwide. Based at our Aachen headquarters, you will help commission, maintain, and support advanced electrical test equipment that enables the next generation of energy-storage and e-mobility technologies.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Aachen, with regular customer travel during the working week.

What you’ll do

• Commission our clients battery test, formation, and power-electronics systems at customer sites.
• Perform installation support, functional testing, calibration, acceptance activities, and system handover.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, measurement, control, software-interface, and communication faults.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upgrades on systems and equipment.
• Train and instruct customer personnel on safe operation, basic maintenance, and correct use of our clients equipment.
• Document service activities, test results, faults, corrective actions, spare-parts requirements, and customer communications accurately.
• Act as a professional technical contact for customers, ensuring a high standard of responsiveness and service quality.
• Collaborate closely with Aachen-based hardware and software development teams to investigate complex issues and feed field experience into product improvement.
• Follow applicable electrical safety, site-safety, quality, and customer requirements at all times.

What you’ll bring

• Completed vocational training, technician qualification, or degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, automation, or a comparable discipline.
• Practical experience in commissioning, maintenance, service, or troubleshooting of complex electrical/electronic equipment.
• Strong knowledge of measurement technology and power-converter technology.
• Experience working with PC-controlled systems; familiarity with industrial communications, test equipment, or automation systems is beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• A structured, independent, safety-conscious, and customer-oriented approach.
• Very good German and English communication skills; additional languages are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites during the week.
• Valid Class B driving licence.

Working arrangement

• Full-time, on-site position at our clients head office in Aachen
• Customer-site travel is an essential part of the role; this is not a remote or home-based position.
• Work within an international battery-technology organisation supporting customers across research, production, quality assurance, and e-mobility.
