We are seeking a Product Manager (M/F) to set the vision and aftermarket strategy for one of Wabtec Transit’s product lines.

This position can be based anywhere in France, Europe, or the UK, with a worldwide scope.

As part of Sales & Marketing, technology, and customer experience teams, you will collaborate with your O.E. (Original Equipment) product line colleagues and the global Sales teams to position your Services offering and ensure the execution of an ambitious strategic plan.

You will represent Services in the Product Management process.

In summary, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Maximizing the product’s aftermarket business value, including targets on orders, revenue, costs, margins, and market share of the service business for the product line.
  2. Leading the Services vision for the product with O.E. teams, translating it into strategic plans and budget reviews, and defining a roadmap for your solutions portfolio.
  3. Gathering and structuring customer needs and pain points.
  4. Identifying market trends and assessing opportunities for your product line.
  5. Driving market intelligence and competitor analysis, staying informed on pricing and solutions.
  6. Managing project phases for continuous improvement of products and services.
  7. Ensuring standard products and services are used in tenders and projects.
  8. Steering ongoing competitiveness improvements, including lifecycle costs, engineering, manufacturing, methods, and suppliers.
  9. Engaging in proactive lobbying activities with regional/country teams, pitching your product line to Sales and Marketing, and developing thought leadership content for social media.
  10. Developing business cases and plans for innovation projects.
  11. Sharing the vision, strategy, and roadmap with stakeholders and ensuring proper training on your product’s value proposition.
  12. Building strong relationships with regional and country Key Account Managers, sales, engineering, and technical product managers to support strategic initiatives.

Candidate profile:

  1. Ideally, you have an engineering or business degree (BA, MBA) and at least 8 years of experience in product management, with exposure to sales, business development, or P&L responsibilities.
  2. You have worked in international contexts, preferably in the rail market, OEM suppliers, transport, or infrastructure industries, within a matrix organization. This experience has developed your strategic thinking and influencing skills.
  3. You are comfortable in both technical and commercial environments, with a strong focus on revenue and margin generation, as well as broader P&L components.
  4. You possess excellent communication skills, proactively building networks internally and externally, and aim to develop a strategic presence at the executive level internationally. You enjoy driving initiatives and working independently, but also excel in team environments.
  5. Fluent English is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus.
  6. Willingness to travel abroad is required.
