Position overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Freelance Market Specialist for the Swedish market to support our Localization and Product Marketing teams at KAYAK. This role combines strategic product marketing with linguistic expertise for high-quality localization. The ideal candidate will improve messaging, positioning, and in-product communications, ensuring linguistic quality and cultural relevance in our localized content.

In this role you will :

1. Product Marketing Support :
   • Develop and refine concise, user-friendly messaging for KAYAK's features and USPs.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a unified product positioning and messaging framework.
   • Audit and update existing product messaging for clarity, consistency, and brand alignment.
   • Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
2. Localization Quality Assurance :
   • Review, proofread, and resolve linguistic issues in translations for accuracy and consistency.
   • Ensure translations meet quality standards and are culturally appropriate.
   • Provide feedback to translators and maintain style guides and glossaries.
   • Evaluate MT/AI-generated content and fully localize to enhance user engagement.

• Minimum 5 years experience in product marketing, copywriting, or related fields.
• Proven experience as a translator, reviewer, or similar role.
• Native-level proficiency in Swedish and excellent command of English.
• Strong writing, communication, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of cultural nuances and content adaptation.
• Familiarity with CAT tools is a plus.
• Understanding challenges of working with MT or AI-generated content.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and remotely.
• Ideally based in the local market to stay updated on marketing trends.
