Junior Service Project Engineering Manager (f/m/d) – jr. PrEM

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signaling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full time Junior Service Project Engineering Manager (f/m/d) in Siegen we’re looking for? This role is offering a fixed term contract for 24 Months.

Your Future Role

Our Siegen site is an international competence center for bogies. 800 colleagues develop, manufacture, test, and repair bogies for global rail traffic, ensuring stability and comfort on the tracks. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Grzegorz Lasko and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

We’ll look for you to:

  1. Deal with different technical service topics in the bogie and drives area.
  2. Propose technical solutions for diverse problems.
  3. Define assembly plans and analyze possible technical non-conformities.
  4. Participate in tests, test drives, and test definitions including acceleration, noise, and strain measurement.
  5. Develop new testing and problem-solving methods.
  6. Define test programs and specifications together with external and internal partners.
  7. Communicate with the customer and technical authorities.
  8. Conduct independent research on diverse technical topics related to various service issues.
  9. Create, test, and approve drawings and parts lists as well as assembly and repair instructions; approve project-related technical reports and testing specifications if necessary, after consultation/approval of specialists (welding specialist, calculation, etc.).
  10. Provide manufacturing support.
  11. Lead and technically instruct the designer team consisting of internal and external employees.
  12. Independently prepare presentations for ALSTOM internal and customers for technical decision making.

All About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  1. Bachelor, Master or Technical School degree.
  2. Proficiency in reading and creating technical drawings.
  3. Good knowledge of machine tolerances.
  4. Good knowledge of iron material properties and manufacturing processes, such as welding, machining, and casting.
  5. Initial experience or interest in complex mechanical systems and rail vehicles.
  6. Advanced understanding of machine construction.
  7. Good understanding of mechanics and physics with the ability to analyze the reaction forces for a simple mechanical system.
  8. Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  9. Good handling of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  10. Catia or other 3D construction software skills would be an advantage.

Things You’ll Enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  1. Experience a dynamic work environment with a permanent position at a leading company for green mobility.
  2. Enjoy a competitive remuneration package (IG Metall), 30 days of vacation, and benefits such as company pension plans and subsidized “Deutschlandticket” (Job Ticket).
  3. Optimize work-life balance with flexible working hours and hybrid working models.
  4. Explore growth opportunities and steer your career across functions and countries.
  5. Benefit from excellent training opportunities through our award-winning Alstom University and participate in the company's innovation culture through idea management programs.
  6. Thrive in a modern and collaborative workplace featuring mentor and buddy programs, diversity & inclusion initiatives, CSR activities, and engaging employee events.
  7. Enjoy comprehensive corporate health management with various initiatives such as physiotherapy, massages, flu vaccinations, blood donation drives, etc.
  8. Access corporate benefits and work-life services to receive support and guidance on childcare, caregiving, and household services.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
