Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company and a leader in the manufacture of plasma-derived and recombinant therapeutic products in more than 100 countries. The company is committed to treating rare and serious diseases and improving the quality of life of patients worldwide.

For the Marburg site (Recombinant and Gene Therapy Product Development Department), we are seeking a Laboratory Technician (m/f/d) for a fixed-term contract of 18 months, starting as soon as possible.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform experimental hands-on routine testing of development samples. Operate complex analytical instruments and software, including but not limited to HPLC (RPLC, CEX, AAA, SEC), plate-based assays (e.g., ELISA), and automated liquid handling stations (TECAN, Hamilton).
• Check raw data and electronically report generated data. Monitor and control method performance.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; handle general lab coordination activities.
• Interpret scientific data, support analytical root-cause investigations, and propose next steps if needed.
• Assist with general lab tasks such as buffer preparation.
• Communicate (written and oral) with customers and project teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong technical/scientific background in a life science discipline, preferably protein biochemistry or biotechnology.
• Proven experience in executing complex, state-of-the-art bioanalytical methods in the lab.
• Experience operating complex bioanalytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, CE-SDS) and automated liquid handling systems.
• Proficient with standard software (MS Office), laboratory, and statistical software (e.g., ELN, Jmp); practical knowledge of bioanalytical software and scripting skills relevant to data science are a plus.
• A motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented personality with a solid bioanalytical expertise foundation and quick onboarding ability.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities, with a commitment to problem-solving and timely task completion.
• Expertise in sample management.
• Passionate about addressing critical unmet medical needs of patients.
• Typically completed 3.5 years of training, e.g., as a biology laboratory technician.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including project experience in product development and knowledge of methods, systems, and applications, possibly with additional certification.
• Fluent in English (Level 2); German language skills are beneficial.
