Your Role as an AI Engineer

As a Junior AI Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing state-of-the-art AI solutions. Your responsibilities include managing the entire AI lifecycle—from data ingestion and transformation to building, deploying, and optimizing machine learning models. You will collaborate closely with data platform teams to ensure that AI-driven insights translate into tangible business value. You will stay updated on the latest AI advancements (e.g., Multiagent Architectures) and cloud technologies on Microsoft Azure.

Your Responsibilities

1. End-to-End AI Development: Build and optimize AI models, covering the entire lifecycle from data ingestion to deployment and operations.
2. Machine Learning & Advanced Analytics: Apply statistical and ML concepts to solve business challenges, including predictive analytics, optimization, and NLP.
3. Generative AI: Build, integrate, and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs), including Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Speech-to-Text (STT).
4. Data Engineering & Pipelines: Ensure data quality through ingestion, preparation, and transformation to support AI use cases.
5. AI Deployment & Operations: Implement scalable, production-ready AI solutions using cloud-based MLOps best practices.
6. AI Innovation: Keep abreast of AI and cloud technology advancements and evaluate their integration potential.
7. Customer Enablement & Integration: Collaborate with teams to customize AI tools and embed them into business processes for maximum value.
8. Compliance & Governance: Ensure solutions comply with data privacy, security, and ethical AI guidelines.

What You Bring to the Table

1. At least 1 year of experience in AI engineering, data science, or machine learning, ideally with data engineering skills.
2. End-to-end AI expertise, including data preparation, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and optimization.
3. Strong Python skills with proficiency in ML frameworks and cloud platforms like Azure ML and Databricks.
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data & AI services and AI APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic.
5. Experience with MLOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab) and deploying AI in production.
6. Skills in designing and deploying AI infrastructure, including containerization with Docker.
7. Solid understanding of NLP, computer vision, and conversational AI (e.g., Azure Bot Services, Microsoft Copilot).
8. Familiarity with LLMs, TTS, and STT technologies.
9. Awareness of AI regulations like GDPR and their implications.
10. Ability to engage with stakeholders and lead workshops.
11. Innovative, team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude and excellent communication skills in English (C2) and German (C1).

Education
