About

Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position.

The EU PE team comprises operational leaders focused on process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfillment Network. Their goal is to establish best-in-class process performance, accelerate technological advancements, and enhance the technical knowledge of operational leaders across the Fulfillment Center (FC) network.

The team aims to control processes and improve performance consistency across shifts, regions, and buildings. They collaborate with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, Central Ops, launch teams, operations engineering, and RME teams to optimize process inputs and prioritize resources.

The Site Process Engineer works closely with the FC Senior Leadership Team and collaborates with EU PE functions. Responsibilities include deploying initiatives, building relationships within the FC, and driving compliance and continuous improvement activities that lead to tangible productivity gains.

Responsibilities
  1. Identify improvement opportunities: Focus on the bottom 50% processes by benchmarking and implementing action plans with local management.
  2. Oversee improvement programs: Prioritize areas aligned with FC leadership.
  3. Analyze process performance: Use reports and data analysis to develop improvement plans based on feedback.
  4. Manage Action Plans: Review and ensure completion of weekly action items.
  5. Collaborate and Benchmark: Work with regional PE teams to share best practices and reduce variation.
  6. Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement network best practices and scale innovations.
  7. Capture and scale innovations: Manage a framework for FC innovations and projects.
  8. Deploy initiatives: Ensure timely and compliant deployment of EU network projects within FCs.
  9. Partner with FC Operations: Participate in daily Gemba walks and weekly leadership meetings.
  10. Support leadership: Build strong relationships with Site Leaders and Ops teams, assisting in process-related tasks.
  11. Lead projects: Support or lead EU-wide projects, including managing multiple FCs.
  12. Operational support: During Q4, support site management operations as needed.
  13. Travel: Willingness to travel domestically within the region (0-10%), subject to business needs.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited institution
  • Proficiency in English and German (C1 level)
  • Experience in Operations, e.g., as an Area Manager
  • Technical knowledge of at least one Fulfillment process path (e.g., Quriosity silver/gold certification)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
