Your Job:

  • Analysis and integration of diverse biological data from plant sciences (large scale genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and/or single cell data) using cutting-edge AI technologies.
  • Development of novel tools and algorithms for omics data analysis and integration.
  • Publishing in international journals and presenting at international conferences.
  • (Co)supervision of Bachelor and Master students.

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree in bioinformatics, biology, or a related field with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Rust, C/C++, and statistical analysis using R/BioConductor/Python.
  • Experience with analysis and integration of high-throughput data like NGS, single cell data, metabolite profiling, and plant phenotyping data.
  • Experience applying AI for data analysis is advantageous.
  • Experience with plant omics data is a plus.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work in an international team.

The position is initially for 3 years, with pay aligned to 65% of pay group 13 of the TVöD-Bund, plus a 60% Christmas bonus. Higher pay may be possible.
