Job Description

Purpose

Describe the primary goals, objectives, functions, or outputs of this position.

Manage a team of Manufacturing Professionals assigned to Third Party Manufacture (TPM) contracts for small molecule products. Ensure high-quality product manufacturing in compliance with local and international regulations, with timely release and delivery according to forecasts, schedules, and planned costs.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of AbbVie TPM Account Managers to:
  2. Negotiate Manufacturing Service Agreements and amendments, ensuring compliance and effective planning and material procurement strategies.
  3. Ensure global logistics support all manufacturing agreement phases in line with Purchasing and Supplier quality expectations.
  4. Maintain timely communication with TPM regarding product forecasts, manufacturing, and delivery schedules.
  5. Develop and oversee Financial Operating Plans, updates, LRP, and standard processes to meet financial goals.
  6. Monitor manufacturing performance using appropriate metrics to ensure standards align with AbbVie quality expectations.
  7. Coordinate with internal AbbVie functions to ensure TPM compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements, including inspections and audits.
  8. Lead performance improvement initiatives across TPMs, fostering efficiency and effectiveness.
  9. Coach managers, set clear expectations, and promote excellent performance and talent management practices.
  10. Conduct routine management reviews and communicate TPM performance, issues, and improvements.
  11. Represent Manufacturing in internal meetings related to TPMs and manage staff through hiring, performance management, and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required; advanced degrees (Master’s or Doctorate) preferred.
  • 15+ years’ experience in technical roles with project management skills.
  • Progressive leadership experience in Operations (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering).
  • Strong business acumen and functional leadership experience in complex operations.
