We are currently seeking a Consumable Engineer (x|f|m) for our Consumables Engineering NA & LA department at Sartorius Stedim Systems GmbH, located in Guxhagen (near Kassel). This is a full-time position with the possibility of remote work on some days. The role involves developing process solutions for our biopharma customers, including creating design documents like technical drawings and conducting cost analyses. The focus will be on the integral single-use design concept, emphasizing Sartorius’ preferred technology, safety, economic efficiency, and quality for (engineered) single-use process equipment. Our global team comprises around 8 professionals eager to shape the future together.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain design rules and guidelines for single-use projects; provide technical support to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other teams to clarify customer URS and facilitate consumables strategy and processes.
• Prepare deviation lists and propose alternative technical solutions.
• Coordinate consumable designs, pricing & quotations, and participate in project decision-making processes to support sales strategies with pricing information.
• Manage design documents in line with project milestones; support technical and commercial customer meetings and negotiations as a Consumable Engineer (x|f|m).
• Review and approve design documents; assist in troubleshooting and improving equipment.
• Facilitate prototype transfer to commercial products and provide on-site training for local teams.
• Participate in on-site customer visits as required.
• Collaborate with PD and Marketing for future market trend analysis, product evaluations, and feedback loop implementations for continuous improvement.

• Successfully completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Process Engineering), preferably with a focus on biotechnology.
• Alternatively, comparable education with relevant professional experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and single-use technologies.
• Passion for the biopharmaceutical industry, process engineering, and consumable design trends.
• Strong project management and coordination skills.
• Ability to understand motives, unite different interests, and employ a goal-oriented, diplomatic approach.
• High customer orientation, assertiveness, excellent communication, and negotiation skills.
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional and global teams, even under pressure, with good time management.
• Business-fluent German and English skills (both oral and written); willingness to travel (~5%).
