What you will do

Your curiosity leads you to the Straubing branch of Fraunhofer IGB with its two departments "Bioinspired Chemistry" and "Sustainable Catalytic Processes." Here, you will accompany a practice-oriented research project commissioned by industry partners.

  • You will develop a method for the electrochemical reduction of disulfides in peptides as part of your master's thesis
  • You will prepare the required peptide mixtures through enzymatic hydrolysis of a natural substance
  • You will develop and optimize an electrochemical process to cleave the disulfides present in the petides

What you bring to the table

  • You are currently in a master's program in a technical or natural science field such as chemistry, biochemistry, or biotechnology, biochemistry, or biotechnology
  • You already have practical laboratory experience
  • You convince with the development of your own research questions as well as new ideas and approaches for research.
  • Experience in electrochemistry is helpful; our experienced scientists will always be there to support you
  • You remain calm in difficult situations and are interested in the interdisciplinary working world of Fraunhofer
