In the "Structural and Thermal Analysis" department, a wide variety of disciplines such as system engineering, optical design, construction and structural and thermal analysis are interlinked. We develop components, mechanisms and structures for optical systems that fulfill their performance data even under extreme conditions, such as strong vibration and extreme temperatures.

Together with other development areas, this results in special optics, camera systems, laser rangefinders, integrated electromechanical-stabilized, multispectral reconnaissance systems for submarines, military vehicles, aircraft and satellites.

Your Tasks

  • Thermal analyses for the evaluation and design of complex opto-mechanical systems using CFD analyses
  • Creation of power loss budgets
  • Definition of heat transfers and implementation of fluid-solid couplings
  • Carrying out simulations based on stationary and transient scenarios
  • Development and evaluation of thermal concepts for complete (sub-)systems
  • Creation of test procedures for environmental tests with regard to thermal requirements
  • Correlation of analysis results with test results
  • Supporting external partners in the area of thermal analysis
  • Presentation of results to customers (internal and external)
  • Working in interdisciplinary teams (mechanics, optics, electronics and software)

Your Profile

  • Completed university degree in engineering or natural sciences in the field of mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable field of study
  • Professional experience as a calculation engineer for the thermal design of complex systems
  • Sound experience in thermal management of mechatronic systems
  • Experience in carrying out numerical flow simulations
  • Very good knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics
  • Very good knowledge in the application of CFD calculation tools (ideally FloEFD)
  • Sound knowledge of CAD systems for preparing the calculation models (ideally CREO)
  • Ideally knowledge of structural mechanical design / calculation
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Structured and independent way of working
  • Business fluent in German and advanced knowledge of English

Happy to hear
