Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Senior Hardware Development Engineer to lead the development of new mechatronic products for our Delivery Station of the future. The successful candidate will be a member of the Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team and will be responsible for strategizing, defining, and managing the lifecycle of new mechatronic technologies for the AMZL Delivery Stations.
This role requires experienced and entrepreneurial-minded individuals with robotics, engineering, planning, and analytical skills. This individual will influence the Amazon last mile automation roadmap by partnering with Robotics, Software Tech Teams, Process Engineering teams, Operations, Facilities, and Engineering teams to improve our customer shopping experience.

Key job responsibilities
As an HDE, you will work on developing complex mechatronics products. Your responsibilities include:

* Leading end-to-end equipment technology development from ideation to on-site implementation.
* Writing requirements, specifications, verification plans, and test procedures.
* Collecting customer feedback and proposing new solutions.
* Influencing technical and business decisions with data-driven contributions.
* Managing project timelines and budgets.
* Partnering with simulation teams for validating ideas.
* Leading discussions on scalability strategies with various teams.

A day in the life
You will innovate and develop new technologies for AMZL, working with vendors, field teams, and building prototypes. You will demonstrate benefits through simulation and data, build business cases, and understand how technology impacts processes and staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years in mechatronics system development and validation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• Experience in optimizing machine design for manufacturing and cost reduction
• Ability to manage complex projects independently
• Fluency in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MSc in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent
• Proficiency with PLM software and ECOs
• Experience with manufacturing simulation software
• Experience with data analytics tools
• Experience with Machine Learning, IoT, AI platforms
• Proficiency in German or French is a plus but not required
