ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We're seeking an energetic and talented individual to join our growing team as a Senior Manager, Accounting for our EMEA entities across seven countries. In this role, you will oversee the finance and accounting functions, including the close process, system and process enhancements, and policy and control adherence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and a proactive attitude to drive results. This position offers both challenges and rewards, with exposure to leadership and a key role in decision-making. You will collaborate with international accounting teams to optimize processes through a lean mindset and technological leverage, tackling projects proactively.

This role is part of the global Accounting team, leading four direct reports and a total team of six. You will report to the VP, Controller, based in the US, and work closely with organizational leaders. The position is based in Wind River’s Munich, Germany office, with flexible work-from-home arrangements to support our remote work culture.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan, own, and execute the financial statement close process (monthly, quarterly, annual), ensuring accurate and timely closing under US GAAP, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations.
  2. Conduct quarterly reviews of Balance Sheet and Income Statement for EMEA.
  3. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other teams on accruals, taxes, inter-company transactions, and key expenses.
  4. Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements, footnotes, and management discussions for each EMEA entity.
  5. Work cross-functionally to standardize and improve international accounting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local reporting, and SOX requirements.
  6. Identify and implement improvements in policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting. Drive process automation and efficiency initiatives.
  7. Coordinate with outsourced providers on ERP system design, implementation, and enhancements related to new processes and policies.
Qualifications
  1. 10+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent, with strong knowledge of US GAAP, general ledger, and financial statements.
  3. Deep understanding of consolidation reporting, foreign currency translation, and remeasurement.
  4. Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently to achieve objectives.
  5. Experience with modern financial processes and technologies, including advanced Excel and data management skills.
  6. Energetic, resourceful self-starter with a collaborative approach across all organizational levels.
  7. Results-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Leadership skills to manage and develop a diverse accounting team.
  9. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in German and English, with a solutions-focused mindset.
  10. High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  11. Oracle R12 experience is preferred.
