Chief Product Engineer - Extrusion, Engines & Others

We are seeking a highly motivated and challenge-ready individual to join us as Chief Product Engineer - Extrusion, Engines & Others. This role involves leading the product team with a primary focus on boosting sales and creating future business opportunities within the SODECIA Safety & Mobility Division's product competence center.

The ideal candidate will be a pivotal figure in their business area, managing and coordinating the product lines of extrusions, engines, and other components to drive sales growth and secure future business prospects.

Main tasks:

1. Lead product development of the commodity Extrusions, Engine & Others
2. Increase and grow sales/turnover of the commodity through technical support of KAMs
3. Support departments like R&D and ME
4. Implement new technologies (materials, processes, manufacturing methodologies) to improve the responsible product commodity and guarantee competitiveness
5. Support departments: Project management, manufacturing engineering, Purchasing, Finance, and all relevant business units
6. Prepare, organize, and follow up on internal reports and management documents to support negotiations and sales activities, considering impacts on costs, quality, and timing
7. Organize and lead meetings, ensuring quality, cost, and timing objectives are met
8. Prepare Cost Break Downs to support KAMs
9. Check and approve drawings and documents
10. Visit exhibitions, congresses, and customers

Skills requirements for this profile:

• Strong know-how in Automotive products related to powertrains, safety systems, or similar. Experience in product development, R&D, or sales in senior roles is also relevant.
• Project management skills, especially in product pre-development phases
• Experience as a direct contact with customers, especially with pre-development or advanced development departments, is a plus
• Fluency in English and German is essential; additional languages are advantageous
• Willingness to travel within and outside the EU
• Proficiency in CAD and CAE tools
• University degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, mechatronics)
