THE ROLE

The Branch Lead - Footprinting manages solutions development, knowledge management, and training for the Footprinting/LCA team in Germany, collaborating closely with the Global Footprinting Lead.

This individual acts as the main contact in Germany for all Footprinting topics, overseeing project sales and delivery, and managing a team of currently four members.

The person owns the team competency overview, recommending team composition based on project needs, team members' seniority, competency, development needs, and interests. They also advise on team sizing and competency development aligned with branch business needs, in cooperation with country leadership and support functions.

Responsibilities include leading and developing team members, ensuring scientific integrity and high-quality project delivery, aligning client needs with solutions, and representing the branch within the global community of expertise.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Being a Subject Matter Expert in Life Cycle Analysis, providing expertise for projects.
  2. Contributing domain expertise to enterprise-level initiatives.
  3. Building trusted relationships with senior client contacts and seeking client exposure.
  4. Playing a proactive role in sales processes for Footprinting projects.

You will succeed if you:

  1. Quickly understand client needs and provide relevant recommendations on LCA and Footprinting.
  2. Apply expertise creatively to meet client needs in key accounts and initiatives.
  3. Create innovative approaches to sustainability challenges, inspiring client understanding.

IS THIS YOU AND YOUR NEXT ROLE?

  1. You are motivated to use your technical expertise to promote sustainability within businesses.
  2. You have over 10 years of experience, preferably including consulting and private sector exposure.
  3. You possess extensive experience in sustainability topics; experience in Chemicals or key sectors like Food & Beverages, Cosmetics, or Fashion is a plus.
  4. A Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a PhD involving LCA is valued.
  5. You have a strong scientific background, curiosity, and expertise in technical analysis, modeling, and data management related to LCA.
  6. You are recognized as a thought leader in LCA and footprinting, with a vision for the field’s evolution.
  7. You have leadership and project management skills, capable of motivating and coaching teams.
  8. You can manage multiple significant projects and collaborate across stakeholder levels.
  9. You are an effective communicator in English, with fluency in German highly desirable.
  10. You excel in external communication, including conferences and webinars.
  11. You value rigor, transparency, and pragmatism in recommendations.
  12. You can articulate complex ideas simply and convincingly to diverse audiences, including executives.

WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL INCLUDE:

  1. Developing the branch strategy for Footprinting, including project profitability and contribution to P&L.
  2. Playing a key role on complex client projects, overseeing technical and quality control.
  3. Creating innovative solutions in collaboration with sustainability experts.
  4. Ensuring internal consistency and excellence in Quantis’ approach to Footprinting.
  5. Revising and expanding offerings and market positioning.
  6. Reviewing proposals and actively contributing to business development.
  7. Mentoring and guiding colleagues.
  8. Enhancing Quantis’ development in Footprinting through outreach and marketing strategies.
  9. Sharing thought leadership on LCA topics.

OTHER DETAILS:

  1. Location: Cologne/NRW or Berlin (flexible remote policy).
  2. Start date: As soon as possible.
  3. Collaborate with other branches via web conferences.
  4. Occasional travel required.
