Working at Parker means belonging to a passionate, dynamic, and innovative team, empowered to make a difference.

Your Responsibilities

As “Mechanical Component Engineer“, you manage the component lifecycle (new component introduction, component change, and obsolescence) for all mechanical and electromechanical (M/EM) components pertaining to the Bill of Materials (BOM) of active products and components database. Your role includes new part approval, obsolescence, and change management. You also ensure correct classification of mechanical components and materials for quick assessment regarding different directives and regulations, supporting our supply chain, quality, and design teams with a state-of-the-art approach to component lifecycle. The main responsibilities include:

Obsolescence Management (mechanical and electromechanical components)

  • Provide obsolescence report status to stakeholders.
  • Conduct Form/Fit/Function analysis and search for alternatives to obsolete components.
  • Manage and coordinate obsolescence issues until resolution, launching projects if needed, and proactively issuing preventive actions.
  • Analyze impact of PCN/PDN/errata contents with Design Engineers for each identified part.
New component introduction and change management
  • Maintain a minimized standard component list.
  • Enforce part approval processes considering environmental, market, lifecycle, reliability, cost, and compliance factors.
  • Identify components with limits or restrictions for correct use.
  • Monitor technological developments and recommend new technologies.
  • Support manufacturer approvals for new and legacy components.
  • Participate in technical proposals and cost estimates, supporting projects and proposing alternatives where necessary.
  • Ensure components align with product lifecycle requirements.
  • Manage configuration within SAP database.
  • Gather KPIs for component lifecycle management.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Degree in Electronics, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, materials, industrial engineering, or connectivity engineering.

  • Knowledge of connectivity norms, materials, and mechanical finishes.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and open attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle large data volumes.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Fluent in English and French; German is a plus.
Ideally, you will also have
  • Knowledge of aerospace norms.
  • Knowledge of sensing materials, particularly piezoelectric materials.
