We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead - Foundations Squad to join our team.

Floy supports radiologists by enhancing their diagnostics efforts with unconventional AI products focused on overlooked diseases. You will lead a fast-paced engineering team responsible for optimizing the key infrastructure and tech stack to address unexplored radiological diagnostics challenges. This requires experience with data and service infrastructure, a versatile tech stack, innovative thinking, and the ability to independently plan and execute R&D tasks with your team.

The goal is to enable interdisciplinary teams and develop scalable processes as Floy grows. You will own the system engineering, data engineering, engineering productivity, testing, and security domains.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and guide a diverse team of engineers
• Develop Floy's core infrastructure to support teams across Data, Apps, CI / CD, ML / DevOps
• Manage in-house projects, stakeholder requirements, and process design
• Focus on scalability and efficiency to support rapid growth
• Ensure system stability, security, fast processing, and compliance within medical regulations

What Are We Looking For?

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Supportive attitude and collaboration skills with engineering teams
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Proficiency in Python and core concepts
• Experience with containerization and cloud platforms
• Knowledge of AWS services: ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools
• Understanding of infrastructure security, encryption, access control, and compliance
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions and CI / CD best practices
• Attention to detail and user-driven engineering mindset
• Structured documentation skills ensuring reproducibility and transparency
• Excellent communication skills in German and English

Good-to-Have :

• Experience in start-up environments and rapid scaling
• Background in medical imaging (DICOM) or healthtech
• Experience in MLOps
• Experience deploying and managing in-house/external apps
• Proficiency with Terraform for cloud infrastructure
• Managing relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL in cloud setups
• Familiarity with data engineering tools such as DBT or Airflow
