About the Global Merchant Team

Our mission on the Global Merchant team is to offer best-in-class restaurant and store selection for consumers and to develop products and services that help our merchants grow profitably on Wolt. We collaborate closely with the commercial teams across 25 countries.

Our five global subteams focus on different aspects of the merchant lifecycle and internal efficiency:

  • The Merchant S&O (Strategy & Operations) team manages merchant and selection strategy, merchant experience, planning, performance tracking, operating models, and go-to-market strategies.
  • The Sales S&O team handles goal setting, sales operations processes, tools, and enablement programs to support local sales teams.
  • The Merchant Operations subteam ensures smooth execution of onboarding, in-store flows, self-service tools, and integrations, working closely with product teams.
  • The Enterprise team works directly with current and prospective merchant partners to grow joint business opportunities.
  • The B2B subteam develops new merchant services, such as logistics as a service (Drive).

About the Role

We seek an action-oriented operator excited to build and lead the sales compliance team at Wolt. Your focus will be on creating, operationalizing, and strengthening a sales compliance framework that meets Wolt’s regulatory responsibilities (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley certifications) and supports sales productivity and onboarding accuracy. You will join the Merchant Strategy & Operations team, dedicated to building the best merchant selection for our customers.

This leadership role involves building the team, processes, and functions. You will analyze sales processes and systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, collaborating with Internal Audit, Strategy & Operations, Systems, Legal, Accounting, Engineering, and Product teams across 25 countries. The position is based in Berlin or Helsinki.

Merchant selection is crucial to Wolt's growth, and establishing scalable, efficient acquisition processes is a top priority. You will hire and develop your team to lay these foundations and support Wolt’s future merchant strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive efficiency and implement process improvements in the order-to-cash cycle.
  • Support sales teams to sell quickly and compliantly.
  • Maintain SOX compliance amid rapid growth.
  • Design, implement, and monitor SOX controls, partnering with diverse business groups.
  • Manage permissions for critical systems like CRM, contracting tools, and internal platforms.
  • Collaborate with Security, Internal Audit, and business teams to develop effective access controls.
  • Document and optimize order-to-cash processes for scalability and compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve performance, including system/process design, training, reporting, and accountability.
  • Manage and develop a growing team of direct reports.

Our Expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in sales compliance, business systems, or process improvement, preferably in high-growth tech startups or established companies.
  • Proficiency in designing order-to-cash processes and systems like Salesforce, DocuSign, Pipedrive, etc.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance related to order-to-cash systems and processes.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Expertise in Google Sheets/Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and flowchart tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
  • Hands-on experience with sales systems and contracting tools administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
