Reference offers an integral approach to communications, where top-tier experience in press relations, brand & community building, curation, events, and social media are mobilised strategically and simultaneously to build momentum and energy around clients.

Reference Studios is looking for a highly motivated Communications Manager to join our team in our new Berlin office. With a strong commitment to service and client liaison skills, the Communications Manager will handle daily business, manage individual clients, and support our PR team, reporting to our Senior Communications Managers and Communication Directors.

The ideal candidate must be passionate about fashion and contemporary culture and bring an understanding of our 360 approach as well as a solid knowledge of the industry, with a specialty in the Arts & Culture . The Communications Manager will promote their clients across activities, while developing and maintaining relationships with key journalists and media within their markets. Identifying with our brands, contents and values is not only a plus – it is a prerequisite to act as an ambassador of Reference Studios at all times.

Your Mission:

  • Support the Senior Communications Managers and independently organise internal agency processes.
  • Provide team-internal support for PR strategies and topic placements.
  • Independently manage clients in coordination with the department lead.
  • Develop and execute agreed PR plans, strategies, and concepts.
  • Monitor media coverage, manage clippings, and prepare client reports.
  • Conduct research and manage administrative tasks.
  • Write press releases and send out newsletters.
  • Conceive and organise events and presentations.
  • Maintain the agency's internal media database and correspond with press contacts.
  • Implement influencer and social media projects, including budgeting.
  • Process pitches, develop customer strategies, and handle client acquisition.

Your Profile:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field within the fashion industry (agency or in-house), or within established art institutions/organisations.
  • Ability to use G-Suite apps; familiarity with brand performance tools (e.g., Launchmetrics, Fashion GPS) and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for an efficient and concise communication of ideas to clients, media and colleagues.
  • Strong knowledge of lifestyle, fashion, arts & culture as well as daily news media landscapes.
  • Superior time management skills, ability to work quickly and efficiently, prioritise and multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in English and strong written and oral communication skills in German are needed. Additional languages (French/Italian) encouraged.
  • Enthusiastic and collaborative attitude.
