Job Title : Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) & Inspection Engineer (NDT – Level II / III)

Job Type : Permanent, Full-Time

We're working with an established Certification Body to support the expansion of their international NDT business with locations across Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, and more. With a strong hub in Essen and over 30 engineers nationwide, the company is experiencing sustained growth and increasing demand for Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) and inspection services.

We are looking for multiple engineers with experience in Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) and general NDT inspections. Based in the North Rhine-Westphalia region, this is a unique opportunity in a highly specialized field where very few competitors operate.

This role suits both experienced AET professionals and mechanical engineers looking to develop deep expertise in this niche area. The right candidates will be hands-on, client-facing, and eager to take on leadership responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities :

• Perform Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) and NDT inspections in accordance with EN ISO 9712 or PCN standards (Level II or III).
• Interface directly with customers to deliver testing and discuss findings.
• Independently conduct tests in the field; eventually take the lead in coordinating teams and project execution.
• Collaborate with other European offices when needed to support cross-border projects.
• Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team.

Qualifications :

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Certified to NDT Level II or III in AET (EN ISO 9712 / PCN).
• 5+ years of relevant inspection / testing experience preferred.
• Hands-on, self-directed, and confident in communicating with clients.
• Willingness to grow into a leadership role over time.
• Fluent in English; German language skills highly beneficial.
• Willing to travel locally and occasionally across Europe.
