Job Description

Take ownership of client acquisition, assessment, onboarding, and development for corporate shipping clients in Greece and/or Western Europe, maintaining direct regular contact with clients, including business travel to relevant regions.

Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day business as an integral part of the Berenberg team, including account management, international payments (including cash management), deposit management, financial products, guarantees, or conditional payments within the industrial environment of operational shipping.

Coordinate closely with Berenberg's product specialists to develop and implement optimal client strategies and tailor product offerings on a case-by-case basis.

Engage actively with internal stakeholders (KYC, Compliance, etc.) to uphold Berenberg's expertise and high-quality service standards in the market.

Take responsibility for the successful commercial development of the overall client relationship.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage client acquisition, assessment, onboarding, and development for corporate shipping clients in Greece and/or Western Europe, with regular direct contact, including travel.
  • Oversee daily operations as a core part of the team, including account management, international payments, deposits, and financial products within the shipping sector.
  • Collaborate with product specialists to craft and enforce client strategies and provide customized solutions.
  • Moderate dialogues with internal teams to ensure high standards of service and compliance.
  • Drive the overall growth and success of client relationships.
Your Profile
  • Extensive experience in corporate banking or shipping industry roles such as relationship management.
  • Structured, motivated, and goal-oriented approach with high standards.
  • Excellent service orientation and ability to represent the company internationally.
  • Passionate about maritime and financial services, eager for new challenges.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and a strong team player.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German and/or Greek skills are advantageous.
