Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a network of business contacts to understand processes, data representations, and challenges.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop advanced machine learning models for automation and forecasting, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects in areas like assortment planning, pricing, and distribution, covering all phases from requirements analysis to rollout.
- Work with data engineering and software engineering teams to deploy and maintain data products.
- Design and implement machine learning models, serve as a role model, and guide other data scientists.
- Contribute to strategic decisions affecting teams and the company, shaping project roadmaps and visions.
- Advise and guide the team towards simple, effective solutions that maximize business value.
- Mentor team members through code reviews and foster a knowledge-sharing culture.
- Drive data science initiatives and influence the company's AI strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in STEM with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the fashion, retail, or e-commerce industry.
- Background as a Data Scientist with software engineering interest or former software engineers with Data Science project experience.
- Ability to work with uncertainty and ambiguity.
- Proficiency in Python and data science frameworks (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
- Knowledge of SQL and data engineering tools (Spark, Hadoop).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and hands-on skills.
- Well-organized, proactive, and self-driven, with team alignment.
- Fluent in German and English.
