The position is located at the Chair of Network Economics (Prof. Dr. Kay Mitusch) of the Institute of Economics. The chair is internationally recognized for its contributions and project research on transport economics, transport modelling, and regulation. It fulfills teaching tasks for the economics degree programs of KIT and is involved in the European university network TransportNet.
Your tasks include modeling European long-distance passenger transport demand. As part of a project funded by RailNet Europe (RNE), you will work in an international team to develop service concepts for long-distance lines of European railroad companies. You will support the development of a European passenger transport demand model based on the existing passenger transport model of the European strategic evaluation model HIGH-TOOL.
The position offers the possibility of pursuing a doctorate, which is encouraged.
