Regional Technical Sales Manager - Pipe Coatings (Powder & Liquid), Germany

This position is accountable for managing Pipe Coatings customers in Europe and North Africa, primarily dealing with powder and liquid coatings. The role includes managing relationships with pipe mills, pipe coaters, valve and fittings manufacturers, and field joint coaters. It involves a combination of technical expertise and sales responsibilities.

The position reports to the Segment Director, EMEAI, and can be based remotely within Europe.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage Sherwin-Williams' relationships with designated customers in the EU as the primary contact.
  2. Analyze market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials to screen potential business deals.
  3. Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  4. Maintain confidentiality to protect the organization's value.
  5. Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  6. Develop and implement formal account plans with targeted strategies for each sub-segment.
  7. Address customer questions and concerns, demonstrating a thorough understanding of product lines and application methods to ensure satisfaction.
  8. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly, including sales reports, monthly reports, and lab requests.
  9. Gather and report market intelligence.
  10. Participate in industry and trade shows and network effectively within the industry.
  11. Manage P&L responsibilities for assigned accounts.
Technical Service and End Users Support:
  1. Attend product trials and project startups, providing technical support to ensure coating system performance and process efficiencies at customer sites. Proactively analyze and optimize coating processes.
  2. Position Sherwin Williams' strengths of technology, quality, and speed as valuable and differentiated from competitors, leveraging intuition and deep understanding of customer, market, and product needs.
  3. Support R&D activities by prioritizing product development aligned with market and product needs.
  4. Support and expand approvals by attending technical meetings, sharing expertise, providing technical reports, and following up to ensure product specifications are met.
  5. Coordinate among company functions to support product development and production activities, fostering business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Material or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Fluent in English and additional languages.
  • Willingness to travel within the EMEAI region.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in pipe coatings.
