This role is part of the Regulatory Team within the GCO and supports its purpose by helping to ensure that the firm complies with its legal and regulatory obligations in respect of AML/KYC, sanctions, and conflicts of interests.

The Regulatory Team operates on a regional basis, and this role will primarily focus on team members within the local region. However, support and assistance are to be provided across all jurisdictions in which we operate, as required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To include but not limited to the following:

  1. Onboarding new clients and matters, specifically: carrying out money laundering checks and risk assessments to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering legislation and policies; seeking approval for high-risk clients and matters; conducting conflict searches and clearing conflicts; performing business intelligence searches on clients and matters, including public profiles/websites, electronic screening, and other databases; verifying information provided by requesting teams; and arranging for the implementation of information barriers where necessary.
  2. Providing support related to regulatory and compliance requirements.
  3. Handling general onboarding inquiries from the business.
  4. Analyzing potential conflicts of interest.
  5. Building good rapport with other departments.
  6. Understanding the firm's client base.
  7. Actively participating in team meetings.
  8. Supporting and acting as a point of escalation for junior team members.
  9. Assisting in training as required.
  10. Participating in ad hoc projects.

Candidates should have at least four years of previous compliance experience in a law firm or other professional services organization.
