SCAYLE Payment is a company driven by the passion to develop the best tech products. Currently, we are searching for an experienced & passionate Senior PHP Softwarecrafter (m / f / d) for our Payment Team.

The Payment team is responsible for the complete payment lifecycle, from customers' first placing their orders within the Checkout to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later. Between these two points, the team interacts with a multitude of internal and external players, spanning from internal business to other tech teams and multiple payment providers in a variety of countries. The applications the Payment team maintains range from high traffic & fault-tolerant API hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain robust PHP applications within the payment lifecycle.
• Implement and promote practices such as Slicing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Pair Programming, Mob Programming, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Integration.
• Work closely with legacy code, improving and refactoring to enhance scalability and maintainability. Ensure all code meets high standards of quality and adheres to best practices, contributing to a sustainable development pace.

Who you are

• Minimum of 6 years experience with PHP (PHP 8.3).
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar data storage solutions.
• Experience with messaging systems like SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
• Strong experience with git.
• Self-motivated and responsible working attitude.
• Entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
• Passionate and eager to learn.
• Experience or understanding of maintaining cloud applications and site reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of software architecture patterns such as event-driven, hexagonal, and microservice architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience working with high volumes of data and load-intensive environments.
• Experience working in highly integrated environments.
