Software Engineer / Software Architect for Automotive Production Systems (all genders), Baden-Baden

This role is with thyssenkrupp Presta, a leader in automotive technology, responsible for high-tech components and systems worldwide. Our product range includes chassis technologies, powertrain components, assembly systems, and lightweight car body parts.

We are looking for a skilled engineer/architect to support our industrialization projects, focusing on communication between control units and test modules, designing scalable and modular software architectures, and developing security architectures for networked production systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing communication protocols between control units and test modules
• Conceiving and implementing new test and production processes globally
• Defining modular software architectures for production systems
• Developing security architectures in collaboration with IT security teams
• Integrating bus systems (CAN, FR, LIN, FlexRay) into test modules and systems
• Designing validation measures, including automated software and hardware-in-the-loop tests

Qualifications:

• Degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar
• Experience with software architecture, object-oriented programming (preferably Python)
• Practical cybersecurity experience (threat modeling, encryption, authentication)
• Knowledge of bus systems and software development processes
• Proficiency in English; willingness to travel internationally (up to 10%)
