Account Manager / Sales Representative, North and West (Francophone) Africa

The Account Manager / Sales Representative is responsible for managing customer sales and technical activities for the assigned customer portfolio to deliver strong business growth throughout the region, with the aim of exceeding annual plan and strategy targets. The role involves managing existing customers and developing new business opportunities in line with the segment strategy.
Core Responsibilities:
- Business growth – Deliver exceptional business growth and goals for the segment/region. Create cross-selling opportunities within the existing customer portfolio. Win business with current and new target customers.
- Account Plans – Develop and execute account plans using company systems and processes to grow Ingredion’s sales share. Communicate and develop these plans with internal and external stakeholders.
- Price and contract management – Implement competitive pricing to ensure maximum value. Conclude annual contract negotiations on prices, payment, and delivery terms.
- Delivery of customer projects – Identify growth opportunities to drive growth of Texture and Healthful Solutions. Initiate growth projects with existing and new customers to meet project targets. Ensure customer briefs are received and validated.
- Innovation and technical support – Serve as the point of contact for technical support, collaborating with the Technical Service team. Bring new ideas and accelerate sales of new products. Identify emerging trends.
- Customer Centricity & Experience – Develop relationships with customers, building stakeholder networks. Enhance customer experience across functions and levels. Increase presence and connections at customers, retailers, and food service providers. Manage customer experience and follow-up on surveys.
- Internal Stakeholder Management – Build effective relationships across functions. Utilize internal support like Technical Service, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance for project development and other activities.
- CRM Data Management – Follow best practices for data management and reporting, including Salesforce.com and CPQ. Ensure data accuracy and work with customers and supply chain for accurate sales forecasts.
- Continuous Development and Learning – Adhere to Sales Excellence standards and pursue learning opportunities to stay current in sales and commercial areas.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
- Sales experience in the food ingredients industry with a proven track record
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of factors affecting profitability
- Passion for sales and growth
- Understanding of food processes and formulations
- Willingness to travel regionally
- Experience in food ingredients distribution or manufacturing
- Knowledge of Specialty Ingredients (desired)
