Role Overview :

Computing DE is seeking a talented and dedicated Editor to establish its EMEA editorial team.

Computing is a leading B2B IT publication in the UK, serving IT leaders for over 50 years and being a key voice in the end-user market.

You will be responsible for creating and leading editorial content in Germany, including producing news, interviews, and in-depth analysis. Content will be published on German-language sites, so bilingual or native-level German proficiency is required.

You should be an organized editor with initiative and drive to plan, research, and write breaking news and features.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Finding and writing news, interviews, and features
• Adapting global stories for the German market
• Presenting at conferences or webinars; presentation or broadcast experience is preferred

In-depth knowledge of the German IT market is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess high literacy, articulation, perseverance, and the ability to work well within a small, dedicated team.

Main Responsibilities :

• Drive the news agenda, produce online content, and enhance digital and newsletter brands
• Manage daily and weekly newsletters
• Understand Computing’s audience and build a valuable contact network
• Develop strategic content ideas for the audience
• Represent the brand at industry events
• Chair events, both physical and virtual, when required
• Gather content off-diary and write strong news stories
• Create multiple daily stories valuable to IT end-users
• Deliver exclusive stories to distinguish Computing DE
• Interview senior executives for publication
• Cover regional conferences of major vendors like Microsoft, AWS, and SAP, sometimes outside normal hours
• Analyze key trends and market shifts
• Present or voice video content, participate in podcasts, and chair events with training
• Share stories on social media, including personal accounts
• Monitor competitors to maintain a competitive edge
