Job Description:

We are looking for a Chemical and Product Failure Analyst (m/f/diverse) to support our Business Area Original Equipment Solutions (OESL) in the Forensic and Benchmark Analysis team. You will perform material and product failure analysis (FFA level 2 and 3), benchmark current vs. competitor products, and support warranty claims.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting field failure analysis and claim management through problem solving.
  2. Conducting benchmarking activities of current vs. competitor products.
  3. Leading and supporting chemical and material analysis for manufacturing issues.
  4. Monitoring the status and results of department requests.
  5. Developing global forensic and benchmarking processes and standards.
  6. Coordinating studies with universities and joint labs.
  7. Interfacing with serial product introduction, including prototyping and serial production.
  8. Maintaining communication with internal customers and material/test labs.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor degree in rubber/polymer technology, chemistry, physics, materials engineering, or similar.
  2. Experience with elastomer and polymer science.
  3. Knowledge of OESL products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  4. Experience in the automotive industry and in material development or product engineering.
  5. Project management and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficiency in English and good German skills.
  7. Analytical, autonomous, flexible, and communicative with good interpersonal skills.
  8. Willingness to travel (~25%).
