ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE SENIOR MANAGER (F / M / X)

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) offers the position of a full-time Accounting and Finance Senior Manager (f / m / x) in an international and multicultural team at the IPC Headquarters in Bonn, Germany, starting as soon as possible.

The IPC, a purpose-driven non-profit association, is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. We oversee the delivery of the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games and serve as International Federation for five Para sports. We enjoy a positive working relationship with the IPC Governing Board, members of which are democratically elected every four years by the IPC General Assembly. Since 1989, we have been creating change through sport with the Paralympic Games and Paralympic athletes at our core.

The IPC seeks to use the influential global position of the Paralympic Movement and the growing profile of Para athletes to challenge the stigma attached to disability and empower social transformation.

ROLE

The Accounting and Finance Senior Manager (f / m / x) is accountable to the Finance Director and will be responsible for :

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, ensuring financial data accuracy and overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Preparing financial statements and internal reports and supporting the creation of annual financial reports while coordinating with external auditors.
  • Managing monthly VAT tax reporting and assisting in preparing annual VAT and corporate tax returns with external tax advisors.
  • Collaborating with departments to identify tax advisory needs and coordinating with advisors for specialised support.
  • Collaborating across departments to provide financial expertise and support budget planning.
  • Assisting the Finance Director in liaising with the Audit, Risk, and Finance Committee.
  • Ensuring adherence to internal controls, finance policies, and German accounting standards (HGB, GoBD).
  • Leading internal and external audits under the supervision of the Finance Director.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a driven and highly motivated candidate who enjoys an international setting and thrives in a fast-paced, open, and exciting environment. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements :

  • University degree in accounting or equivalent vocational training, e.g., Bachelor Professional of Accounting (CCI), with at least 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Working knowledge of European tax laws and German Accounting Standards.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • A team-player outlook with the ability to work independently within a structured finance team.
  • An interest in professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • An ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to situational demands.
  • Sound judgment and diplomacy.
  • Advanced knowledge of German (from B2 level).
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
