In this remote Associate Director, Sustainability Marketing & Capability Building position, you will develop our sustainability strategies at the site, product, and divisional levels. You will act as one of our key global leaders for the Lonza Capsule & Health Ingredient (CHI) business. You will develop and strengthen awareness and skills of the CHI community on sustainability and decarbonization topics.

Sustainability Marketing
  1. Act as a sustainability focal point towards CHI Commercial and Marketing functions (Sales, Business Development, Marketing).
  2. Collaborate regularly with our Center of Applied Sustainability to translate Lonza CHI’s sustainability strategic roadmap into clear commercial value propositions.
  3. Engage with customers: work closely with sales, supply chain, and product management to communicate our sustainability efforts and foster partnerships.
  4. Support understanding customers' sustainability needs and translate them into product requirements and value propositions.
  5. Lead and facilitate customer workshops or audits on sustainability.
  6. Stay ahead of pharma and Health & Nutrition market and technology trends in sustainability by conducting research, participating in conferences, and preparing reports.
  7. Respond to market and customer sustainability requests, working with the CHI Center of Applied Sustainability.
  8. Contribute to commercial and technical assessments to drive lifecycle initiatives, such as emission reduction and water consumption across CHI.
Capability Building
  1. Develop, implement, and train on engagement strategies in collaboration with CHI Internal Communication and HR departments.
  2. Create and roll out training content and impact-driven programs to improve organizational climate literacy.
  3. Expand sustainability knowledge among CHI employees globally and at the country level.
  4. Develop customer engagement strategies to promote sustainability actions.
  5. Champion sustainability internally and externally, raising awareness among employees, customers, advocacy groups, and industry partners.
Key Requirements
  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent in sustainability or business administration.
  2. Extensive experience leading sustainability projects and developing related marketing strategies.
  3. Willingness and ability to travel regularly to CHI sites, global conferences, and represent our organization’s leadership.
  4. Working proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
