Essential Job Functions :
- In collaboration with DTO Intelligent Automation leadership and Key staff members, develop site specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps inclusive of digital solutions, machine learning and ability to leverage commonality of technical solutions across other sites.
- Design and implement process optimization strategies with DTO Intelligent Automation technical systems engineers to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
- Work closely with manufacturing site teams to analyze and evaluate existing processes, identify improvements, and recommend technological solutions. Complete process concept, project charters, business justification, Risk Analysis, feasibility / Proof of Concept, Automation FAT, SAT, and validation.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments, pilot studies, and technology transfer activities. Manage external contractors and vendors for process development and transfer projects.
- Collaborate with DTO team members and other functions to develop and implement playbooks for automation solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve process issues, improve equipment effectiveness, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain strong relationships across departments to ensure alignment of strategies and goals.
- Mentor and build engineering capabilities through skills assessment, training, and support for engineering and operational staff.
- Drive value through automation solutions by increasing asset utilization, improving OEE, optimizing labor, and reducing costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in scientific and technical fields.
- Travel : 25% to 30% of the time
Required Education and Experience :
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing / Process Engineering, or Computer Engineering / Software Systems
- At least 15 years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, automation design, technology transfer, or related fields, preferably in regulated industries.
- Minimum of 5 years in Intelligent Automation solutions, including machine learning, vision, controls engineering, AMRs, cobots, AI, GenAI, and data analytics.
- Strong knowledge of process optimization, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical analysis.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education and Experience :
- MS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing / Process Engineering, or Computer Engineering / Software Systems
- Project Management and Industry 4.0 certifications
- Proficiency in process analysis, modeling, simulation software, and statistical tools.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies like Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Knowledge of automation and control systems such as SCADA and PLC.
